Join us for The College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts Warriors On-Stage Workshops!

Summer camps provide children and young adults with an opportunity to participate in and reflect on a unique experience designed to help them develop new skills, increase their knowledge, and grow a sense of connection to others through a shared experience. This sentiment is enhanced when participants attend theatre camps designed to help them bring an array of emotions and characters to life through theatrical performance.

Warriors On-Stage Workshops (WOW) will provide camp goers with a weekly themed and fun-infused experiences that will help attendees develop and/or refine a variety of skills including:

  • Creativity – Performers will learn to bring their imaginations to life through emotional expression and character development.

  • Teamwork – Performers will hone their acting skills while working together to progress the storyline.

  • Communication – Performers will learn to convey their emotions and thoughts through dialogue, movement, and character evolution.

  •  Confidence – Performers will boost their confidence by acting in front of fellow camp goers and audience members.

  • Independence – Performers will learn their lines and navigate camp demands away from home, helping to boost their independence and develop a positive self-view.

Broadway Bootcamp for ages 5-12 (August 4-8)

This is the perfect camp for younger attendees from a range of performance skill levels. WOW will help performers who are coming to the stage for the first time get comfortable with learning lines and being on stage. WOW will also help more experienced young performers elevate their craft. Through a series of theatre games, movement activities, small scene exercises, and traditional camp activities, your child can shine on stage! Younger performers will work on delivering lines and stage movement through children's poetry performances while older actors will participate in skits and scene acting.

Campers will take a trip to the DIA and Detroit Science Center as a part of the camp to enhance their understanding of the interconnectedness of the arts and science.
